Covid hit my business pretty hard, as it did for many in the Nova Scotia wedding industry. So much uncertainty led to postponements, cancellations and a lot of wedding downsizing for our couples. Although it hurt financially I did get a lot of time with my daughters which is an absolute blessing. I also thought to use some of my time to design a more elaborate styled bridal shoot than I usually have time for. I knew it would be a lot of work so I reached out to Shanna of Details Event and Design Studio to see if we could partner on this. She was so enthusiastic! We have become good friends and colleagues through all of this and I am so grateful to have her positive kind soul around.
Shortly after beginning planning we had an epiphany. Let’s turn out efforts into more than just a styled bridal photo shoot. Let’s make this really count for a couple who may have been hit as hard by the difficulties of the past year as we had been. We decided to use our efforts to GIVE AWAY a small Nova Scotia wedding. So it began. We started finding vendors, decide on styling and all of the logistics that are involved with an endeavor this large. Throughout it all Shanna was so organized and, despite a major Covid shutdown that we thought would end the whole thing, kept positive and got me back on track.
